Childcare – Tax Facts

Starting from 7 March 2022, the childcare subsidy has been raised by 30 percent, with a maximum of 95 percent for the second and subsequent children in childcare, and there is no yearly limit.

Services Australia states that you might qualify for claiming the Childcare Subsidy if you:
• had a child who is 13 years or younger and not attending secondary school
• passed the work/training/study test
• ensure that your children under seven satisfy the Government’s immunisation requirements or have an exemption
• utilise approved childcare services such as long day care, family day care, in-home care, outside school hours care, vacation care, and/or some occasional care services.
